About Us

Wildlife Rescue Ministries is a program of The Humane Foundation for Animals, Inc. We are dedicated to helping sick, injured and orphaned wildlife. Our goal is to return these animals back to the wild whenever possible.

The founder of Wildlife Rescue Ministries is Dr. Richard Kane, DVM.
Dr. Kane is a 1984 honor graduate from the University of Florida - College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Kane has served as:

  • President of the Hillsborough County Veterinary Medical Society
  • Chairman of the Animal Advisory Committee for the Board of the County Commissioners
  • Board member of the University of Florida Alumni Council (C.V.M.) – 0ver 20 yrs
  • Board of Admissions for the College of Veterinary Medicine

Dr. Kane has been elected as:

  • Business Leader of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce
  • Veterinarian of the Year by the Hillsborough County Veterinary Medical Society

Dr. Kane has won:

  • The prestigious Alumni Achievement Award from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine

Dr. Kane has been featured numerous times in major newspapers and television news broadcast for his accomplishments in veterinary medicine.
